The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

Made for the Amazon Prime Video streaming service, this series takes place in the LOTR universe fictionalized by J. R. R. Tolkien and deals with a different period and a different story, independent from the period in the LOTR movies. Developed under the responsibility of “J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay”, the series was unfortunately disappointed by many LOTR fans after its release. After the enormous and colossal success of the LOTR movies, LOTR fans have come to terms with the fact that the next LOTR universe movies will not come out of the same quality. The series received negative reviews far below expectations due to the elements appealing to popular culture and many unsuccessful scenes. Set in the Second Age of Middle-earth, the series chronicles the gradual deterioration of the peaceful environment of Middle-earth thousands of years before the story of The Lord of the Rings.
